Valentine’s Day, also called Saint Valentine’s Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine, is celebrated annually on February 14. It originated as a Christian feast day honoring one or two early Christian martyrs named Saint Valentine and, through later folk traditions, has become a significant cultural, religious, and commercial celebration of love in many regions of the world.
At Marymount School, we do not just teach our pupils but show them the true meaning and understanding of LOVE, by teaching them not just to exchange gifts with friends alone but also to everyone around them as well as those who are less privileged.
This is a yearly event that we celebrate not just between the kids and the staff members of the school, but to other in orphanages as well, that they might learn to express love to all.
For this event, the kids participate in different activities such as: singing dancing, talks, gift exchange and lots more.
Due to the Covid-19 the pupils did not visit the home, however selected teachers represented the school and took gift items to the orphanage home. It was a very memorable day for the children and we believe it helped to inculcate in our children a social responsibility as it gave them much joy to share love with friends, family and the society.
